This course provides an introduction to the properties of fluids, the principles that govern their behavior and how to apply the laws of motion to both static and moving fluids. Topics include: hydrostatics; static forces on submerged surfaces; flowing fluids; Bernoulli’s equation; continuity, momentum, and energy equations; differential equations of fluid motion; irrotational flow; dimensional analysis; boundary layer theory; drag and lift; closed conduit flow.
